Late last summer, with only weeks to go before a planned September wedding, we received a text from Alex that wasn’t too surprising given the circumstances of the year. It was a text similar to many of our couples’ notes to us from last year: Something along the lines of, “I’m so sorry, we are going to have to postpone the wedding.” Immediately, we blamed the pandemic, but Alex gently and courageously told us the reality of the decision.
Story Told Photography has been so blessed to know and adore the Anderson family. We first shot Alex’s sister’s engagement and wedding, then we had the opportunity to take photos of their parents for a fun anniversary shoot, and this past summer we met Alex, Bob, Cam, and Chewie for family photos.
On March 13, 2021, the only remnants of what was undoubtedly one of the most difficult years for this amazing couple were masks covering smiles on guests’ faces. There was nothing but pure happiness on this long awaited day.
We met Alex and the girls at the Anderson home where the girls were getting ready. Alex was breathtakingly bridal in her gown from Le Jeune Marie. After the girls were ready, we headed off to The Vue where we met Bob and the guys before the ceremony.
The Vue was exquisitely decorated with flowers by Fiat Florals and we swooned at all the pretty details and smiled at all the fun Star Wars touches throughout the day. Bob is a big fan. We even caught a guest wearing a Star Wars shirt with suit jacket at the reception!
After the ceremony, we beat the darkness just in time for photos and chased the sun as it set on the most perfect day. At the reception, we think Alex’s mom said it best when she alluded to the obstacles Alex and Bob have conquered head on together.
