Wedding Wednesday is here again and I've got Susie and Alex's wedding on the blog today! These two are so much fun and shooting their wedding was a blast! I had Alaina from Alaina Parker Photography along as my second shooter for their day and she was so fantastic to work with!
Susie and Alex were the first couple to be married at their church (H20 Church) right here in Columbus. They had a beautiful ceremony. Susie was classically stunning in her wedding gown. We headed off to Goodale Park afterwards for portraits and even stopped at the very park bench that Alex proposed to Susie at!
These two radiated happiness all day long and they ended their perfect day (despite some rain!) at Dock 580 and danced the night away with their family and friends. Everyone was having so much fun and the party was still going strong when Alaina and I headed out!Read More
Sharing one more senior this week! Meet Peter. This Upper Arlington senior attends the same church as me! Peter decided he wanted his photos on the water, where he has spent many summer days with his family on their boat. It was so much fun to shoot out on the marina. We had a beautiful summer sunset.
I am so blessed to photograph such wonderful young adults. When we shot these photos last summer, Peter wasn't sure where he wanted to go to school yet, or what he would major in, but he did tell me he wanted it to be WARM! I feel ya, Pete. Ready for winter to be over!Read More
Happy Wedding Wednesday all! AND Happy Valentine's Day!! THIS wedding! Oh, I am so excited to share this wedding with you. This day made my heart so happy. When I arrived in Washington Court House, I knew this wedding would be a favorite. I sure do love my county brides!
Megan and Aaron are so sweet, so kind - being in their presence just makes you so happy. Megan has the most contagious laugh! She was classically stunning. When Aaron turned around to see Megan during their first look, this was one of my favorite moments of the day!Read More
I’m sharing another beautiful spring wedding today! I’m getting ya hyped for spring, okay? Love and Lavender actually featured Emily and Chris’ wedding on their blog last year! Check it out here.
Do you remember these two?? I shot their engagement session in the fall of 2016 in my hometown! Remember that tulle skirt of Emily’s?? If you don’t, click here to see how pretty it all was!
As soon as I arrived at Emily’s room at the DoubleTree Downtown, I knew they day would be full of nothing but joy. She was radiant. Everyone was so sweet, so kind. As I was prepping to shoot Emily’s pretty details (swooning over all the soft lavender), her mom introduced herself to me and said, “After reading your blog, I knew Emily had chosen the right photographer. You clearly have a passion for this. I saw it in every person you photographed.” Holy moly, Mama Bright! I’ll never forget that moment. It meant so much to have someone who had never met me before see this simply be reading my words and looking through the portraits I take. My heart was so full and it was the greatest reminder of why I love photography so much. Thank you for that.Read More

Brandi + Michael
Arena District | Huntington Park
I cannot believe I just shot Michael’s engagement photos! What is this life? I have known Michael for quite a while. I first met his older sisters back in high school and we became fast friends. I totally credit being the youngest and only boy in a family full of sisters to how amazing of a man he has grown into. Haha (; But seriously, I am so impressed by who Michael has become. He’s always been hilarious, caring, and just so much fun to be around, but watching him with Brandi, I saw a man I was so proud to know.
I kept seeing Michael post photos with this pretty little girl on Facebook, and I could just tell. I think everyone could tell. His smiles were of complete happiness and you could see the joy in his eyes. This wasn’t just another girlfriend.
I have to give credit one more time to the sisters! Michael’s sister Marilee was working with Brandi at the time and told Michael, “There’s someone I want you to meet.”
Michael proposed one day outside the steps of Huntington Park with a beautiful beautiful beautiful diamond ring. And as they say… the rest is history.
Brandi is incredible, just the girl I would want for my own little brother (if I had one!) to marry. I had heard so much about her already, and was so excited to meet her last year when Michael reached out to me to talk about photos after their engagement. Brandi is beautiful, kind, intelligent and she just fits in so perfectly with this wonderful family. I got a little emotional even when I first started shooting their photos!
For their engagement photos, Brandi and Michael chose the arena district, right back to where they got engaged. I loved how they incorporated Michael’s uniform and Brandi looked drop dead gorgeous in her dress! Seriously, check this dress out! Obsessed. She rocked it.
And you might be wondering, what the hey with the cake pops?? Oh you know, Brandi is just AN AMAZING BAKER. I’m always seeing her work on social media and everything she does is so beautiful. I was dying to try her famous cake pops! SO… She even made some extra cake pops for me to take home after their session. I LOVE HER. I popped those babies open as soon as our session ended and was in cake pop heaven. You can check out more of her cake popos and other yummy work here.
I am so excited for their late summer wedding! Seriously, this wedding is going to be FUN! I am so happy for the two of you, Michael and Brandi. Thank you for the opportunity to capture your love story!
